Jacob Partington ’25

“ Classes include a lot of discussion with my peers, which helped me build relationships.”

Jacob Partington chose his Health and Physical Education major because of his interest in exercise and working with children and is looking forward to a career in teaching.

The classes in the Health and Exercise Department are informative and fun. The faculty encourage questions and are invested in the success of the students. The atmosphere of the department is collaborative and supportive. This creates a sense of belonging and builds strong relationships beyond the classroom.

A meaningful aspect of Jacob’s learning has been shadowing physical education teachers at the local middle and high schools. This has helped him learn different teaching styles and various approaches based on age group.

Outside of class, Jacob is a Collegiate Fellow for Residential Life, is president of the club tennis team, is a coordinator for Gustie Buddies, works at the campus ice arena, and teaches private tennis lessons.
